I'm looking to buy a PS3. Right now, I don't have the money for a new one, so I was wondering what you think I should do. Should I sell my Xbox 360 with all the games and accessories and buy a brand new PS3, or should I use the extra cash I have at home to buy a refurbished one from GameStop? I know the quality of a refurbished one won't be as good as a new one, but is the quality really that bad? Here's the basic breakdown. If I sell my Xbox 360 then I can afford a brand new PS3, but no games or accessories. If I buy a refurbished one, I will most likely have the money to buy a game or two with it. So my question is should I buy a refurbished PS3 from GameStop or a new one from a retail store? How is GameStop's reputation for refurbished game consoles? Basically, is it smarter move to buy a refurbished PS3 and save some money, or a new one and exhaust all of my funds?I want to buy a PS3. How should I do it?
It is a smart move to buy it refurbished, They are almost EXCACTLY the same as new. And if the refurb seems a little messed up, then just return it.I want to buy a PS3. How should I do it?
The only reason I would by a refurb PS3 is that they still have some that play PS One and PS Two games. The newer PS3s do not play the older games. I have a bunch of older games I like to pull out from time to time. Refurbished products are usually a really good bargain since the ticks have been worked out. You may want to check your local paper too. You may be able to find someone who is selling theirs (or craiglist). You can't be guaranteed what you are buying though.
You should go to the store and give money. pretty smart idea , eh
Sell your Xbox 360 and buy a new PS3 on Amazon. You get free shipping and you don't have to pay tax on it so the money you save right there will be about half the cost of a new game. Come up with another $30 and you got yourself a game.
@ Lil Miss Answershine: Actually the new PS3's CAN play PS1 games, just not PS2 games.
Although if you could find an old refurbished 60 GB PS3 that CAN play PS2 games, I think that would be a good buy, since you would basically get more features for less money.
See how much Best Buy will give you for the 360 because you can trade in over there now and you can get the PS3 with there extended two year warranty which everyone says is great. If I could do it over again I would go to Best Buy and get it from them and get that extended two year warranty because they stand by it. I hear people say they do.
