EBaying the right to prevent an Abortion?

I was thinking to myself about absurd eBay auctions...I remember reading about a girl who auctioned her virginity on the site, as I recall an Australian businessman paid millions of dollard to take her v-card.

I had an idea for another such auction, (no, I'm not in this position, and will not actually be doing it):

Say you were a single, pregnant, teenage girl with no parents to lean on, who didn't want to have the baby and have to live in poverty on government assistance. You feel that your best option is to have an abortion, not wanting the child to grow up with nothing. Could you hold an auction on eBay, allowing people to bid on the opportunity to allow you to keep your child versus aborting it? The winning bidder, (with some minimum dollar amount set of course), would buy the right for your child to live. In the process you could/would make enough money to buy a proper home, upbringing, and education for the child.

Were you in this destitute position would you consider doing this? Would it work? Would it be legal? How much would you pay as the bidder?

Thanks!EBaying the right to prevent an Abortion?
You you cannot, the buying and selling of rights is forbidden under international human trafficking laws.EBaying the right to prevent an Abortion?
Are you crazy! I don't care legal or not. This is not some piece of junk in your attic your having someone bid for, this is a human life born or unborn.
I'm pretty sure that would violate the TOS for Ebay and would likely be pulled before the auction was completed. The situation you wrote of with the v-card was actually an episode on a TV series, not an actual auction that was completed, though a couple of folks have tried to post one of those.

Just personal opinion here.

If any person is willing to have and then love a child, but only if paid to, otherwise they'll kill it, then really what kind of parent would they be? Seriously, can you imagine what that kid is going to think when it eventually finds out?

A far more loving choice would be to have it and put it up for adoption. Taking advantage of those who feel so passionately about the subject that they would be willing to pay to prevent an abortion is just tacky.

I think that person would be so vilified by the media and the public in general that they would very much regret doing that.
Well.. it's hard to say.

because think i remember in P+L we had a case where some guys were stranded on an island and they only way they had to survive was to eat one of them..

so they murdered the youngest (he was an adult btw.. llol) and yeah. you know the rest..

so i guess people would go to desperate measures to survive.. and we all say that i'll never do that even if my life depended on it..

so yeah..

there are people who will go to desperate measures to survive.

it'll benefit the child.. but would you be able to live with that sort of conscious??

pretty philosophical
besides the fact that ebay wouldn't allow it i find it hard to believe that anybody would pay for someone else to have their child. even people against abortion, myself included. it seems like if the person has to be paid, they should just give the child up for adoption. then at least it would be with a family who wanted it and not a mother who had it only for money. ebay would have no fault this matter because really they have nothing to do with life! it's an interesting concept. and i think anything along these lines, including the girl selling her virginity, is too iffy and shouldn't be accepted.
someone did something similar to that a while ago and actually got gullible pro-lifers to send her money when she wasn't even preggers. at the end there was a picture of a bloody babydoll on her site and a sign that said ';sorry pro-lifers, you were X-amount of money short';. it was pretty silly to be honest.

but it wouldn't work on eBay. it might cause a stir, but in the end you would probably get in deep sh*t
Actually, you couldn't mail them the fetus, it's biological waste. They don't let you take it home when you're done.

This might theoretically work, but actually if you don't love the kid enough to not kill it, you were probably leaning toward adoption. Most adoptive parents will pay for all related costs, and then you give them the baby.

Instead of ebay, you find them through adoption agencies or the Pennysaver. jk.

I think a better and more effective way to get the baby paid for is to walk through a jeering crowd outside an abortion clinic, pick a likely-looking protester, preferably a young one, and say ';I want you to have my baby. I can't pay for it, so that'll be your job, and then when it's born you can legally adopt it.';

Have paperwork written up, pull it out, have them sign, if they won't, walk straight into the clinic, leaving that sorry hypocrite to re-examine their principles.
