Leaving home for good. How much money do you think I need?

My parents are extreme radical muslims and they've threatened to kill me. My situation is kind of like the links I posted below but I'm not a convert to Christianity. I'm just not religious.

My dad has threatened to kill me, and to protect the honor of the family, the father gets ';rid'; of anything dirty. I'm a disgrace to my family for going to college. I don't smoke

I don't drink

I am involved at my university and more.

The abuse I've lived through, along with emotional abuse, I can't even begin to write here.

I fear for my life everyday, and my friends are scared for me. I want to leave home. My tuition is paid for because I'm on scholarships (:

but I have $600 in the bank

and was thinking of taking out students loans.

I need a car and an apartment.

How much total money do you think I'd need to leave home?

My monthly paycheck is $600.

My friends say that when I leave, they will come to my house because if I even speak of leaving, my dad will kill me. He's hit me before. He won't hesitate now.

Please don't criticize me for growing up in America all my life without having friends, music, kept in my bedroom all my life, no control over if I get to buy deoderant, if I am allowed to do my homework. I did my chores, but they told me I'm property.Leaving home for good. How much money do you think I need?
First of all, when you leave home, leave home and do not leave any clues to where you are going. Make sure your mom and dad do not have access to your bank account and or statements. They do not need to know what you are spending your money on and where you are (unless you decide to inform them)

Secondly, you could take out a private loan from a bank for a lot more than what you need for school. Loans are difficult but sometimes you need them when you are on your own. I bought my car off ebay from New York, I financed it through a local bank. finance a cheap car through a bank and take out student loans. Talk to your financial aid officer and go to a bank where you have a checking account and apply for a car loan (Keep your monthly care payment as low as possible)Leaving home for good. I cant express how much i feel for you!

i really do,

maybe you should get yourself a hostel until you sort yourself out, but im not sure how housing works in America, i live in London!

Maybe you should talk to a counsellor at college, tell them everything from how you feel and that you don't feel safe, i'm sure they will help you out and find u a accommodation
The last poster was right, you should go to a college counselor. They can help you find housing and financial assistance. If your life is in danger you a counselor will know places that accept youth in your situation. Also, look on the internet for any groups that help young people to get out of severe religious situations like this, they will be abe to help!

Financially, it is hard to tell, it depends on where you live. For example, I live in las vegas, it is very expensive to live here. The average apartment cost for a one bedroom, clean apartment is about $800 a month. But you could live on campus? or does your campus have a bulletin board, you could room with someone? You need to think about the cost of apartment, utilities, insurance, phone, internet, cable, auto, school books, food, toiletries, clothing, misc items, emergency money. Six hundred dollars a month will not cover it. A student loan should be used wisely too. When you leave, have a counselor or policeman there to escort you out. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
